Mt. View Middle School warmly welcomes our new principal, Mr. Holinger. We wanted to get the inside scoop on what Mr. Holinger is really like, and here are some tidbits we found out about him.

Q. What are your hobbies?

A. I love to cook and love to eat! Also, I built my own house which is the fourth house that I’ve built, and I love to be outside with my kids.

Q. What are your favorite books?

A. Harry Potter, Lead Like a Pirate, and Teach Like a Pirate.

Q. What activities did you participate in when you were in school?

A. I played baseball and was heavily involved with theater, both backstage and onstage. I was also an Alpines ski racer, and I played soccer in middle school.

Q. What was your favorite subject in school?

A. Science. Education was not easy for me because the process of reading was and is pretty hard for me, laborious in a way.

Q. What college did you attend and what did you study?

A. University of New England, double majoring in marine biology and education.

Q. Where would you like to travel if you could?

A. I’m fortunate to be able to travel a lot, I think travel is very important, and I’ve been to every state (aside from Hawaii) and all Canadian provinces. I also want to do a gastro [culinary] tour.

Q. What pets do you have/want?

A. Sometimes we adopt animals. One time we went to rescue one miniature pony and came back with seven. Also, I want a Great Dane, but I don’t think my wife will let me.

Q. What item would you want to add to the complex if you could?

A. Turf fields and more resources for kids.
